Staff Representation
Tasks and Aims
The Staff Representation at MKH exists since 1976. In the Staff Representation Regulations the field of work for the eleven honorary representatives is clearly prescribed.
The Staff Representation is directed by a chairman, an assistant chairman and a secretary; their term of office is four years.
Staff Representation and employer are to design the fate of the hospital together in the sense of a work community.
The Staff Representation has to agree in questions of new employees and structuralization, gives advice to employees in all questions concerning their work, adjusts, mediates, and negotiates. Furthermore, the Staff Representatives take part in meetings, can make suggestions and thus are part of the creative process.
It is their aim to secure jobs and to stabilize the company in combining the interests of the employees.
Kardinal Meissner of the bishopric Cologne is responsible for the co-determination of the employees in questions of church service.
Apart from its tasks at the hospital the Staff Representatives take part in a supraregional exchange with colleagues.
For questions concerning legal instructions we employ a lawyer.
Numerous seminars for further education give us the necessary tools/equipment to handle the demands of working in a hospital

Contact
The chairman and his assistant chairman are exempted on four days a week (75 percent). This allows a meeting every two weeks and a consultation hour on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8 am to 3 pm. The staff representatives are available daily under 02202 938 - 4990.
